Do you have questions about wisdom teeth? If so, you’re not alone. Many people feel confused and even overwhelmed about wisdom teeth, especially wisdom teeth surgery. So, to help you find the answers you need about wisdom teeth in Heber, Utah, our doctor, Dr. Joseph Fullmer, is happy to answer frequently asked questions.

Question No. 1: How many teeth will be removed?

Answer: Each patient is different. Some people have four wisdom teeth while others only have one to three. Typically, your dentist will remove all the wisdom teeth you have unless they do not cause any threats to your smile or oral health.

Question No. 2: What type of anesthesia will be used?

Answer: Some procedures require the use of local anesthesia while others need general anesthesia. If you have local anesthesia, you will be awake for the treatment. If you have general anesthesia, you will be asleep or groggy. You’ll need to ask your doctor which anesthetic he will use depending on your procedure.

Question No. 3: How long will the surgery take?

Answer: The surgery can range from one hour to several hours, depending on the number of wisdom teeth needing to be removed.
